Festival 2009

Tickets for Waste
Bring 3 cans, 3 plastic bottles and enter the Festival for free!
In 2009 we wanted to do something very important and revolutionary. We created the entrance mechanism for the Festival – Tickets for waste. Each person who, on the very opening day brought 3 cans and 3 plastic bottles, got the opportunity to enter freely at the Festival. Each person who didn’t recycle, could buy the ticket for 400 dinars. In this way we wanted to stimulate recycling. 15.000 people came, bringing the waste which enabled them to enter freely. 95% of visitors recycled 2 tons of packaging waste was collected. This mechanism was successful and unique mobilization of the citizens to behave responsible towards the common environment. The main comment on this action was witnessing its success – people noticed  that on that day they couldn’t find cans or plastic bottles in the city streets. Thanks to massive response, for 2 tons of collected waste we bought a set of recycling bins for Hajducka cesma.
In 2009, on 26th of April, Supernatural Festival was held for the third time. This time, the organization was emphasized by good music, innovative acts in reducing the emission of Co2 and large recycling. The only way to protect the Earth is that what we take from the Earth, we must not take again, and the biggest percent of what we can use put back into the process of production. We made the stands for numerous ecological organization, having in mind the prevention and protection of the environment. With the team of architects and designers, we produced solution for the stands and for their constructions. We borrowed the transportable euro palettes which we brought back after the Festival (to be reused again).
By the support of Holland Embassy in Serbia, we introduced another very important innovation: the main stage which totally runs on biodiesel fuel – Biodiesel stage.
We do our best to create as positive influence on the environment in the process of organization and our business. Biodiesel stage represents clean sources of energy and reduces the Co2 and helps our Festival create minimal carbon footprint. With Biodiesel stage, recognizable multicolored scenography of Supernatural, the wind generator also presented wind energy as clean source of energy. The opening morning the Festival started  by the children’s program with heroes from our youth: Dobrica Eric, Minja Subota and children’s choir “Carolija”. From 2 o’clock p.m. and on, we were hosts to some of the most famous rock, dub and reggae bands from Serbia and abroad: Rambo Amadeus, Eva Brown, Jarboli, Veliki Prezir, Irie FM, Shiroko, Vlada Janjic, Gordan Paunovic, Bill Brewster and Dub Pistols. The program on Disco Field was great thanks to Braca Burazeri, Banana Rave, Funky Sljiva, Indie go, Idemo na Mars, Tijana T, and others.
In cooperation with more than 20 ecological and other organizations we organized workshops where the visitors could get the “Green knowledge” and practical skills: Blatobran and the workshop for recycling plastics bags, ORCA and its campaign: “Be human to animals”.
Topiary Art Trust and workshop of horticulture, Tehnix and the demonstration of baling waste, Sekopak, Ball Packaging and Recan with a creative lecture on recycling for the youngest, Notos with the promotion of wind energy. The Ambassadors of the Environment, Public utility company, the city of Belgrade, and many others. In cooperation with the Procredit bank and USAID we created the debate pavilion from biomass, speaker’s platforms with topics on restorable energy sources, biomass, solar energy and wind energy.
This year was very important for Supernatural because we became partners of Ministry of Ecology of Republic Serbia on its project “Let’s clean Serbia”, and in cooperation with the Embassy of United States of America in Serbia, we started the production of documentaries, which were broadcasted by the national frequency on B92 TV.
