The fourth year of Supernatural Festival we marked by great topics – Green Architecture, Organic food and Recycling.

Numerous research works show that building construction industry is the biggest emitter of CO2 and contributes to almost 50% of total emission of Co2 into the atmosphere. Supernatural directed its activities towards the education of young architects and designers by announcing the open competition to build Supernatural eco pavilion. This open competition was announced in cooperation with the Association of Belgrade architects, and had the aim to represent this pavilion as a spatial manifest of sustainable principles in architecture. The winning proposal was presented at the very Festival day, and on public areas of Belgrade, followed by series of educational workshops and exciting lectures of the world protagonist of green architecture from Paris – Edouard Francois. The open competition winners the studio KAKO KO use in their work the principles of sustainable design by usage of recycled material and their ideological solution represented the system of pleated paper (folded paper), wrinkled paper on the cardboard (carton), as a basic materials. USAID supported the production of the Supernatural Eco Pavilion.

In great coordination with Public utility company, from 16th to 18th of April 2010, at Nikola Pasic square, we organized once again a very successful recycling action. Whoever brought 3 plastic bottles, 3 cans and 3 sheets of paper got a free ticket for Supernatural Festival. We collected over 1.5 tons of waste.

25th of April 2010 about 15.000 visitors of all ages gathered at Hajducka cesma to celebrate the Day of the planet Earth. A totally new thing for the Supernatural Festival was introduction of organic market. In cooperation with Snezana Jandrlic, representative of the organization “Nature” and Belgrade markets we organized a weekend’s market day in Kosutnjak and offered the cleanest and the healthiest fruit and vegetables, organic sandwiches and cooked organic bean soup for the guests of the Festival. We were recognized by Slow Food, the biggest organization for protecting biodiversity in the food chain for our confrontation to bad habits in nutrition. In 2010 Supernatural becomes an official member of Slow Food.

Ecological program of the Festival consisted of workshops of green architecture, design and sustainable development in the KC Grad in cooperation with a studio of architects 4od7, representing the endangered species of the Danube in cooperation with Coca-Cola Hellenic, a workshop of clean sources of energy – “European days of Sun”, with the Centre for promoting, development and appliance of renewable sources of energy – Centrala, lectures on ethical attitudes and acts towards animals. “The class for Mila” with ORCA, the promotion of the usage of bicycle as a new system of public means of transport, “Cikliranje” with the initiative for sustainable urban mobility and with the Agency for cooperation with NGO of Belgrade, the presentation of Nikola Tesla`s inventions with Tesla`s Centre, the workshop for kids on recycling with Tetrapak, and Recan gave a bicycle from recycled aluminum to the winner of the quiz. Great cooperation we also had with our host the municipality of Rakovica, and municipalities Stari Grad, Cukarica, Zvezdara, Vracar, Palilula, New Belgrade and Savski Venac.

Waste management is one of the most important strategic initiative of Republic Serbia, with Sekopak we organized a large recycling polygon – Sekopak recycling sorting corner. All waste generated at the Festival was directly sorted and recycled on the spot.

We made one step forward and involved young people into Supernatural movement – we formed Eco Patrol.

We opened the door to young people, activists and fans of Nature enabling them to join ecological actions of the Festival. Those who were interested could join Eco Patrol and take part in ecological workshops, actions of planting trees, cleaning the river banks and also collecting and recycling the waste material. The program of Eco Patrol was directed to build the habits and skills with the wish to create the concrete and visible results towards environment. We created the unique opportunity for young people to achieve the knowledge to applied ecology and created ecological team that  Supernatural will engage in all future actions and projects including The Supernatural Festival itself.

Traditional children’s programs are with Minja Subota, Dobrica Eric, Manda, Ekomusketari, children’s choir “Carolija”, Ivana Negative, Ballet studio “Amadeus”, Tijana Dapcevic, performance “Happy Squirrels” and a poetress Lela Stojanovic. Musical part of the program at Biodiesel Stage was with amazing youth choir Viva Vox, Jasna Jovicevic and Improv Kolektiv, Svi na pod, Hypnotized, a virtoise on the guitar Adam Rafferty, Naked DJ Brka, Darkwood Dub, leaders of dub dance genre Zion Train, Japanese Duo DJ Aki and MC Yuuki who are the main promoters of Japanese drum`n`bass scene.

Disco Field was host to the very top of Belgrade electronic scene: EWOX, Felony Flats, DJ Pepe, Tijana T, Brothers Burazers, Alex Monster and Vladimir Erdber and DjurDja
